Connie Weikel will speak at a Magnificat Breakfast on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 9:00 am at Christ the King Cathedral, Hehman Hall. Connie was born in Springfield Oregon to Russian and Ukrainian parents. Raised on a farm by parents who taught her many important life skills, she met her husband Mike in Alaska and married him at age 21, and raised four children. A founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Lexington, KY, she has been involved in numerous parish ministries. A talented painter, and a gifted seamstress, she owned Draperies by Michael for 40 years. She sewed memory bears out of the clothing of deceased family members while serving in hospice for 15 years. Her spirituality has led her to take numerous pilgrimages. Hear this woman of faith speak of the challenges of everyday life. As Connie would say, "Only God Can Change a Person's Heart - Pray without Ceasing" and "Trust God with a Capital T - Surrender to Him". Connie has donated a painting of the Madonna painted by her mother as the door prize ($275 value).
