Billie Jean Queen Gibbons, 94, of Nicholasville, KY, passed away surrounded by family, on September 11, 2024. She was born in Ashland, KY on October 6, 1929 to Hermia and William Queen. Billie Jean raised five children: Suzanne (David) Shelley of Poulsbo, WA; April (Dannie, deceased) Byrd of Lancaster, Jill (Nasser) Mirhosseyni of Urbana; Stan (Shalia) Gibbons of Paris and Joel (Robin Wilkerson) Gibbons of Lancaster. She was “Jeannie” to seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The viewing and Vigil for the Deceased were held at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18. The Funeral Mass was at St. Luke Catholic Church at 12 pm on Thursday, September 19, followed by a grave side service at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Margarita Meza Chavez, 83, wife of Salvador Meza, passed away on September 12, 2024, in Lexington, KY. She was born on March 7, 1941 in Jalisco, Mexico, to the late Monico Chavez and Lorenza Diaz. She is survived by seven sons: Jesus, Jose, Manuel, Anjel, Jose Luis, Graviel, and Antonio Meza; six daughters, Marcela, Leticia, Margarita, Socorro, Esther, and Doloros Meza; and a brother, Lucio Godines. The Visitation was at Betts & West Funeral Home preceding the funeral. The Funeral Mass was held at 12 pm on Friday, September 20, at St. Luke Catholic Church, followed by burial at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
