On behalf of my mother, Betty Battaglia, I would like to thank Father Aldrin and the entire congregation at Saint Luke’s for the love and friendship you have shown to my mom over the past 21 years. She loved each and every one of you and loved Saint Luke’s.
Mom was not well enough to attend mass the past few years and, believe me, she wasn’t happy about that. But that didn’t stop her from keeping in touch with many of you and she looked forward to your daily phone conversations. The past few months were difficult for mom and I know she lost touch with some of you. That certainly wasn’t by choice!
My mom has been ready to be with Jesus for as long as I can remember. She moved here from Cleveland 21 years ago because she was terrified that she would end up in a nursing home one day. I promised her then that she could live with me for as long as I was able to care for her needs. I am so grateful that in her last days and as she passed I was able to be at her side, holding her hand and reading the Divine Mercy Chaplet as she had asked.
Betty Battaglia was a wonderful gift to all of us and I know you will miss her just as I do. Thank you for being such an important part of her life. Susan Battaglia
