In 1370 in Cimballa, Spain, during a Mass, Fr. Tommaso was assaulted by strong doubts about the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The Host was transformed into Flesh, and Blood began to flow copiously from the Host onto the altar linens. The penitent priest began to weep with remorse. The faithful, seeing that he was troubled, quickly hastened to the altar and saw the miracle. The relic was then taken in procession and the news spread everywhere. The episode strengthened the wavering faith of the priest, who contritely retired to a monastery, dedicating himself to a life of penance and prayer. Every year on the 12th of September, the memory of the miracle is celebrated in the parish church (Santa Maria in Cimballa) where the relic of the Bloodstained corporal is still kept. Many miracles were attributed to the "Most Holy Doubtful Mystery." Believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and come to know Him at Mass and Adoration. He awaits you with loving arms.
